I seem to have been rather naive and taken the advertised capacity as gospel ( a little knowledge.....). Is this false advertising or should everyone buying the product have enough expertise to avoid the pitfalls? Have asked the company but received no reply so far.

It's certainly a false description of the goods, but the retailer could claim it's a mistake. However, if you Google for trojan scs200, every other website will list it as 115Ah. I'm surprised you'd even consider buying from Wydels, because they're not a major battery supplier and their price is very high (unless perhaps you can benefit from some special discount arrangement with them). If you've already advised them of their mistake, there's not much more you can do. It's not worth losing sleep over.

What a great artcle, even a fool like me can understand the logic so I guess I need to start again with my search. A real bu..er when a plan is scuppered! Many thanks for all your advice. Terry

[/ QUOTE ]This article is RUBBISH.

Mr Sterling totally dismisses Gel and AGM batteries which is exactly the opposite to Mr Nigel Calder's advice. Gels and AGMs may be more expensive but they do have more advantages and can in the end be much more cost effective. Mr Sterling seems to ignore the likes of Lifeline AGMs which because of their construction charge 30% faster than other batteries. Check out their excellent website for all the other benefits. A few weeks ago I emailed Mr Sterling with my thoughts on his inaccurate article and he has failed to respond.
