More seaplanes

"an island resort 20 minutes away off Essex"?
Not my idea of an island resort, and it's not off Essex - it's in Essex.
I suppose, if permission is granted, that'll mean a pontoon for the plane to moor against.
Will they restrict sailing in the area for it to take off and land? I presume so.

The Blackwater is not that big.

I don't believe that "they" can restrict our right to navigation. In the Collison Rules seaplanes are obliged to check that their landing/take off area is clear before they can proceed. Given the general yachting activity in the Blackwater it could be difficult for them to operate I would think, but of course money talks!! Is this the same owner of Osea who illegally dumped a load of rubble along the Causeway in a cavalier fashion and caused a hazard to navigation?

Having sailed in Charlotte Amilie Harbor, where the seaplanes operate with the regularity of buses, I doubt it will be a problem. When coming into land, they usually make a low pass over the designated operating area. They also wait untill it's clear before taking off.

Only problem I can foresee is Sir Flogger Round-Course yelling ' I'm wacing!' or Mr MAB, not keeping his eyes open as he sails slowly along.:)
