Plymouth is fast becoming a foodies paradise, Gary Rhodes new restaurant has opened in the Plymouth Dome on the Hoe and just announced is a new branch of Rockfish the award winning posh chippy from Dartmouth, this will be in the old architects offices looking out on the marina by the aquarium.

We are favouring Shirley Valentines at the moment.
Really like their own label Red , about £13.

We are aware of Hugh Fearnley W's place in the old biscuit factory (King William Yard ?) but have not tried it yet.

I've not found a decent fish supper south of the Hadrian’s Wall.

Interesting; everything I can see on the web says its by the Aquarium - that's madness, its the wrong side of the lock, he needs to be Barbican side of the lock surely?

I guess you are in Sutton Harbour? We're on B pontoon.

Try Tripadvisor for a less starry eyed view of Rhodes at the Dome (not that we have tried it yet - cash too limited to risk on that sort of thing). And apparently he is focusing on the wedding trade.

Went to the Dome a month ago. The restaurant is hard to find on the website, and you get the feeling that its not terribly well-organised for bookings yet, but they are up and running and busy. Booking online works. The place is spectacular, a 180 degree view of the Sound. Go for lunch, in daylight, but maybe not on a day like today! Food was excellent and really not expensive at all. Starters £5-8, mains start about £10, and grills as well. Desserts even better at a £5. It was all very artistic and tasty. I preferred it to Hughs organic, macro veggie type food. There are lots of tables, and a nice bar outside if you just want a drink! A nice addition to the Plymouth scene!
