I'VE RECENTLY PURCHASED A BOAT WITH A VOLVO ''MD11C'' INSTALLED POSSIBILY LATE 70'S.I CAN'T FIND ANY INFO ON THIS ENGINE ON THE INTERNET IE. WHERE TO PICK UP A MANUAL ETC.WOULD APPRECIATE ANY HELP.THANKS.

Have you had a look at www.boatdiesel.com? It's an American site and will give you answers from an expert to almost any question you might have. Don't know about the manual though. Maybe Keypart or Volspec will have one if VP dealers can't help.

I had a Westerley Berwick with the same engine until last year. The Volvo agent in Poole photocopied an engine manual for me. Don't want to be negative but any serious repairs cost a fortune. Over three years I had the top rebuilt (£2500) and an exchange gearbox (£2000+) plus bits and pieces- it would have been cheaper to cut my losses and install a new engine.
