The forum just provided an instant solution for flat hinges. How about cranked hinges? The cupboad doors are bigger than the holes they cover and the whole hinge is visible on the outside. ie one leaf lies flat on the face of the door and the other flat on the face of the surround so there is a crank of about 7mm. Trouble is several of the hinges are missing and searching cranked hinges on the net comes up with hinges intended to be concealed.

Hi
Suggest you have a grovel through Ironmongery Direct Catalogue.
www.IronmongeryDirect.com .
Loads of different stuff there which might do the job.
Sorry for such a nerdy reply, I dont spend all my time reading ironmongery catalogues, honestly!

Thanks but that is nothing like it. What I am looking for sits on the outside face of the door and the outside face of the frame. In section it is a squared off Z

Thanks but thats not it - it is too similar it the one in the picture posted by Dylan. The ones I am after have no square hole in th middle and the two leaves should be more or less the same but one cranked back to the lower level. As to posting I have no idea how to post a sketch or indeed how to create a sketch on screen. But thanks for the reply.
