The shed is underway and the roof should be on by the end of the week . The materials for the strongback are ready and waiting and lots of advice from very nice boatbuilders has all been taken in .
Ive been looking over the plans for the slipper again and again .
The questions ..... if anyone can help please /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif
The hog is shown as two timbers laminated together to make a 36mm x 100mm , the inwale is also laminated from two timbers . Is this for ease of bending ? Does the grain need to oppose one another ? Is it not better to do the hog in solid timber ?
Whats a scupper do ? they are optional .
The stem girder is out of ply , can i not make a ladder out of oak to form the same shape or will this not be as strong ?
Thanks for any advice in advance .
