If anyone else is bound for Southern Brittany in the coming days then best to check the Morbihan local government website - there is some kind of strike / industrial action going on and the main fuel distribution depot in Lorient is apparently blockaded.
Fuel appears to be scarce South and West of Rennes and many service stations along the coast either side of Vannes are being made to reserve what they have for public and emergency service vehicles
More detail here: http://www.morbihan.gouv.fr/ where there is a list of garages affected and to what extent, seems like the shortage begins at the Ploermel services on the N24
I'm off tomorrow for some winter maintenance so happy to have a 600+ mile range in my car...
