Moorings

It might scare some authorities?

By pooling knowledge we might be able to
1. get a better understanding of likely waiting times
2. work out if lists are managed as fairly as they claim :-)
3. Understand why so many moorings are vacant in locations with long waiting lists

......... then again, it's much more interesting as a complete mistery

I'd think there may be a lot to be said for - and on - a moorings forum, I have a half tide swinging mooring myself, which I also laid and maintain, along with helping put other club moorings now & again.

I've said this before and I'll say it again, very soon it will be nigh on impossible to lay new moorings as under the MMO regulations this is ' Depositing items on the seabed '; if anyone knows of derelict or unused moorings anywhere in the UK, I would urge them if they own them, or to persuade whoever does, to resurrect them PDQ either to use or as investments for the future.

We all know how scarce moorings are in some places, well it's going to get a lot worse !

Bear in mind the drift away from marinas at the moment as people can no longer pay their prices.

We owe it to future generations to secure as many moorings as we can before the conservationists try to sterilise everything everywhere...
