Wilsons Boatyard at Sunbury ceased as an active boatyard many years ago but the business continued with some hire boats & fishing punts and also running the mid stream moorings on the weir stream near Middle Thames Yacht Club. The business finally closed recently and the hire boats and craft on the moorings all disappeared.
The moorings are now being advertised as being available again (tel number 07496 210118) and it would also seem that the modest little fleet of 1940's hire boats has a new owner and there are some plans to make them available for hire again.
