Hello all,

Had a great sail today form Brancaster to Wells, piccie attached, not that it will help with
the problem at hand; its just a nice pic of Old John getting ready to go at about 6:30am.

Anyhoos. The mooring in Wells. Over the past few weeks the tide has scavanged quite a
hole from under the boat. This is normal but a bit of a pain as when its dried out you still
need to hold onto the kettle due to the list. However it seems to have exposed the concrete
block the mooring is attached to and while it not going to move anywhere Im concerned
that if wind and tide conspired against us theres a possibility of the boat coming to rest
on it. And this Im sure would not be a good thing for the hull. A close inspection
suggested this might of happened already. Am I being paranoid? Is it possible to
hole or damage the boat in this way?

Many thanks

jono

The few times that I dried out on my drying mooring in the Thames I was impressed that the old girl put up with such thumping for decades - and that was on soft mud. I definitely wouldn't want any boat of mine to be grounding on a concrete block. I'd speak asap to whoever is responsible for the moorings. I'd borrow another mooring until the problem was fixed or move on to the pontoon regardless of cost.
