Hi

I currently have a private "mooring" for a dinghy behind my house but will be moving to Twickenham soon. So that means I need to find a mooring for this dinghy either in Twickenham or perhaps Richmond. Does anyone know who manages these moorings or where I can find some more information?

Thanks a lot for your help

Tom

When I used to live on a narrowboat, my mooring was granted by British Waterways and my licence by the Thames water authorities. I think who issues what is determined as to whether you are above or below the tidal access.

Reading this has confused me now, but heh, another post to my name!!!

Hi

Go and have a wander around Eel Pie Island, opposite Twickenham. I was down there yesterday and there are several wonderfully old-fashioned (I was going to say scruffy) boatyards offering moorings, slipways, DIY repair work etc etc. About the last place on the Thames that has not succumbed to St George's blocks of flats.

Good luck

Chris

TYC is a good option as they have moorings and a dinghy park. Lion Boat House is the only other commercial offering for small boats. The owner, Alan Ward, is on holiday for another week.

I'll pm my number in case I can be of any help.
