Mooring Portsmouth Area

Eldest daughter has decided to go to uni at Portsmouth,so we thought it may be an idea to relocate our 18 ft cruiser down there. Could any one recommend any suitable sites, even tidal moorings

There are a few boatyards on the Hamble north of the A27 roadbridge [junc. 8 M27] that are reasonable if you think the Hamble is expensive. These yards are exclusive Mobo only unless the Raggie has a very short mast. These are less than 5 mins from J8 which in turn is only 10 mins.from J12 for Portsmouth.

You might try Hardway Marine, which is on the Gosport side just north of Gosport Marina.

Try this:

join the Portsmouth Cruising Club, or the Porchester Sailinc Club, Both have excellent moorings and facillities. Also try Southsea Sea Angling Club, they have storage and launch facillities. The harbourmaster can also help with tidal moorings. Furthermore try the Eastney Sailing Club,
