So we have moved marinas and want to make up fixed length lines . It’s 42ft fly , so what is the best rope to make the lines and what size . Thanks for replies.

I am very happy after four seasons with 16mm eight strand Octoplait for mooring lines when cruising.
Winter lines are 18mm 3 strand nylon.
The eight strand is soft, easy to coil and stow. The three strand becomes stiff, hard to coil and handle. For permanent lines its OK.
12 Metre Motorsailer, goes almost 17 tons with full tanks and all the cruising gear on board.
