Mooring laying/recovery in the river Blackwater

For years we, in St Lawrence Bay, off Stone Sailing Club, have used Rick Cardy, with his tug to lay & recover our moorings. Unfortunately poor old Rick passed away earlier this year.
Understandably It is unlikely that his family will continue with the tug services & we can no longer rely on them to deal with our moorings.

Can anyone in the Mersea - or other nearby areas- give me the contact name & number of any possible mooring laying services that might come to our area.
I already know about Bradwell marina

Ross Wey from West Mersea has taken over from Alan Bird doing the Mersea moorings. I don’t know whether he’d come to your area but it might be worth asking him.

May need 11 race marks placed; although Ricks widow may do that those a last job but we have been waiting some time.

I cannot imagine that it is economic for someone to come from Orford. That is why I was asking about nearer areas

FF ( Felixstowe Ferry ) Boatyard, travels to Orford to maintain moorings in one visit that may last a week or two

You might want to consider Gary Jackson (01621 841646) who is based up at Millbeach and lives on Goldhanger Road. He specialises in drying moorings but has been known to branch out into other areas where there is demand. No link other than a grateful customer over the past 12 years.

Gary looked after my swinging mooring. Very good at his job and not overpriced.
