Mooring for a RIB in/near Empuriabrava

Apologies if I have missed a faq post on this subject but I'm hoping some experts here can assist.

We live in France and currently, I have a 5.5m Valiant which splits its time between Royan marina in spring/summer and our house (30km from Royan) in autumn/winter. We are intending to buy an apartment in Empuriabrava, (with mooring) within 24 months or so. However, I'd like to relocate the boat down there in September this year and get an annual berth. Being a smallish RIB, I don't need power or water - just a berth. Any steers on likely spots would be greatly appreciated. I have checked the main websites but prices seem quite high -although that just maybe is the way it is....

I’m in the main marina in Empuriabrava and enjoy our spot (12x4) which at €5700 pa incl elec, water, parking, showers and 24 security and very easy access is not too bad. However there are much cheaper alternatives within the housing communities run by private operators. One example is Port Grec. There is a guy on this forum called Mike who may be able to help, I hope he comes along. At this local level it’s who you know I’m afraid.

Davidj has given me the heads up on your quest. Your best chance for an inexpensive mooring is to find someone who is not using their mooring. I can send you a PM with details of a facebook group (mainly French) who advertise moorings from time to time. also I can let you have the tel number of a German guy (speaks reasonable english) from whom I rent my 10m mooring from for current annual rent of 2600 euros, inc electricity and water plus use of showers and toilets. He acts like an agent for owners of moorings.
