Mooring fees

I am hoping to launch this summer (in Sharpness).

I would be grateful for recommendations for Bristol Channel marinas whilst doing commissioning trips.

Thanks in advance.

(My previous mooring, long time ago, was St Pierre Pill.)
 
We are moored in Portishead Quays. Not the cheapest, not the most expensive, but a good quality marina with excellent facilities and security. Good marine technicians and other services too. At Cardiff you have the Penarth Quays. A little more expensive than Portishead I believe, but not night and day. Bristol is a bit cheaper I believe, but you have to navigate the lower ?Avon to access the Bristol Channel of course. Can you clarify what your minimum needs are?

Cheap, cheap and cheap!
Previously in St Pierre Pill it was certainly cheap (and still is apparently).

We were very restricted by the tide and The Shoots is not my favourite exit route!

With a much bigger boat, Countess 33 compared with a Four 21, more open and more accessible water would be good. I think SWMBO has had enough mud to see her through the rest of her life!

Anticipating further work, electricity would be nice but, with an inverter (or maybe a genny) not vital.

Distance from home is a consideration. We live just north of Gloucester so the "French fee" doesn't apply.

Cardiff appeals as a member of the Yacht Club (vacancies permitting) and is just over an hour away. Swansea is stretching it a bit. It seems the commercial marinas are all pretty expensive.

Further views would be appreciated.

We have a mooring under construction that I have put my name on in Leucate (Med France) and the plan was to arrive this June. Delays have meant this is not now going to happen so we need somewhere not too distant from home for shakedown trips and maybe something longer until the departure becomes possible.

I guess semi-permanent is the closest definition.
 
Cheapest in cardiff last year was graving dock next to techniquest. The parking machine was broken and a notice give you the gate codes. It was like that all last year. Not sure if it is fixed yet. Only good for a few days though, if your staying on board
