Hello all

It has got to the time of year that we in the UK tend to receive our mooring bills. Just received mine for the Norfolk Broads and am pleased to say that it is the same price as last year. £1,650 for our Sealine S24 for the year. To be honest I was expecting it to go up

How are others finding theirs have changed.

On the Thames and my marina charges have gone up every year but the river licence was less this year!

Still works out at less than £500 a month inc insurance, I can't get a room for that when working in London and we have had every holiday for six years on the boat too.

Mine is marginally more than last year.. I pay a ground rent to the harbourmaster who is part of Cornwall Council, my stone, chain, etc... So just over £200 a year plus about the same for maintenance.

About £900 for my 27ft motorboat on the Norfolk Broads, and increase of about 5% but we are saving for a new clubhouse..

I moved marina to avoid Aquavista's expected insane increases. They put 9% on last year for doing 50% less work than the year before including total marina shutdown during lockdowns. So this year I expect they'll be adding at least 20% more on top of that which would be inline with their approach to running a business. So like many others I've moved so this year works out about £200 cheaper than last year.

No discount this year for paying the annual fees up front, so about a 9% increase on last year. Southampton. Like for like insurance is the same (despite a year of NCB)

Similarly the visitor mooring fees had increased way over inflation at Hull when we were there last summer. Plus they used to do buy 6 and get one free (or something like) which has been dropped. We used to stay a few nights each summer . It was never cheap but now I am planning to avoid or at least minimise nights in Hull in 2022.

That is a good price for the Broads. Would you mind telling me where you are berthed
Horning sailing club,
Family Member ship is around £150 a year,
You get the use of the club car park, toilets showers, there is a water pipe for filling tanks (not for boat washing).
You can if you wish join in the social events, which in a normal non covid year are about once a month.
The price is for the moorings across the river you can see them here , if the sun isn't in the cameras eye.. Horning Sailing Club
it's the right hand bank of the river to the first set of bushes in the left hand camera, and the left hand side pens in the right hand picture.
There are two club Rowing boats supplied with oars if you want to use them (I do) that will take a small outboard or electric.

You are requested to help the club, by doing a days duty between 1st Apr and the end of October, normally that's tea bar helper or rescue boat driver or crew..

Restrictions, no mooring on the club frontage on:
A racing day, that's Sundays 09:00 to 17:00 plus other special events in the issued annual club hand book.
Thursday afternoons (sailing school) May to October.
Regatta week, first week in August 09:00 to 18:00
Three Rivers Race weekend and the week leading up to. That's normally the first weekend in June (though its May 28/29 this year)

If you joined after a while you'll learn there are small exceptions to the restrictions, if you can get in and out without disturbing the racing.. For instance 1 race day in 3 is up on the broad and another is down river to a pub, so once the sailing boats have gone then the frontage is free.. till they come back..
You can always temporarily moor up on the Swan Pub Green or the parish Staithe for loading

There are moorings this side of the river they cost about 25% more but it's dead mans shoes waiting for a place, you have to put your name on the list.. I took my name off the list as I found it no problem crossing the river..

Details of who to contact are on here..

I had the opposite in Southampton MDL, a discount paying upfront and it went up by about £200 this year, but the last two years it was cheaper.

Yes that's the plan.
We have visited HCA Grimsby several times, usually after stopping at Hull . If all goes to the present plan our dates for 2022 are late June . I will keep you posted .

Ours, for 12 months is increasing 1st April for 2022/2023 by 3.8% but was not increased at all for previous two years so fairly reasonable., especially for South coast Not sure if shorter term rates are similarly increased.

Don't know ours yet as they start again in May, odd time of the year but £3.5k for a 38' holiday home in Ramsgate Inner marina suits me, we'll see what happens in April when they come asking for renewals?
