Hoping to stop over night at Teddington after trip round with three other boats.
Likely to be space or will it be super busy at lock moorings on Sat evening . Not much inclined to go any further up that day.
Is that little family run Italian still open in the High St, or might book Tide End ! ?
Daughter and grandkids will be joining us on Thursday and will need somewhere to park people carrier close to river for 24 hours without silly parking fees. SIL want to arrive by train on the Friday
Suggestions !

Will answer in full tomorrow

We don't have silly parking fees in Tedd. Plenty of places to park off high st

Teddington….

Ok Moorings – the best person to talk to is Tedd Lock about availability of lock moorings. I run past it regularly and never really see it that full.

If you want a guaranteed mooring then talk to Tedd Harbour who could possibly sort you out an overnight mooring (at a cost) outside the boathouse (by the foot bridge) or outside the Wharf (opposite the lock)

The High Street.

As this is my hometown I can assure you of one thing….if you want to buy a house, eat or get your hair cut you are in the right place.

The Italian you speak of (Sorrentos?) is still there. Personally I don’t rate it BUT many do and it's been there years. You really can't fail to eat well in Tedd it will cover ALL prices.

The Tide End is ok for what it is as is the Anglers again two places I would not choose to eat. Top end you can go to the Wharf or you can walk up the High Street and get stuck in. The first pub is the Royal Oak on the left which is now very good, the Kings Head on the right which his very good but can be pricey (Raymond Blanc)

In between you have a whole host of restaurants another Teddington favourite is Shambles which has been around for years and has a very pleasant garden and menu to match, gets lively as well when the piano kicks in. Lets just say it is enjoyed by the “older generation” The clock house is ok as well. Prem is a very good curry house.

If you choose to head over the bridge then you have a couple of couple of old favorites particularly with the family. The best value restaurant in Tedd is Red Peppers and its sister restaurant Bar Estillo. Never been disappointed in all the years I have been going there.

Trains – This is very easy from Waterloo, you can go one way or the other. Platforms 1, 2, 3 etc will go via Kingston and will either end up back at Waterloo or to Shepperton. Simply get off at Tedd. If you go via Richmond (platforms 17 onwards) again get off at Tedd. At the station exit via the NON ticket office side, turn left and walk towards the High Street. Walk down the High Street towards the lock and you wil be there in less than 10 mins…

Parking – very easy just head up the high street and take any one of the roads off of it (Manor for example) these do not have residents parking and are free. There ARE some roads that have residents parking but are clearly signposted.

Very easy – good luck…

The Anglers has been under new management for a while and I rate it now. The food was very good, so was the beer, but if you want a drink and don't like queuing it's worth ordering two at a time.

Hence why its not my choice of eating or drinking establishment! agreed on the new management though its a different pub
