Colleague had a Moody 38CC. He's asked me about fitting an Eberspacher. I've asked him to look on the Moody Owners Site but in the meantime can anyone tell me where the best place is to mount an Airtronic D4 on a Moody 38CC?
Many thanks.

No idea but be careful of the exhaust routing. My D4 is in my cockpit locker. Bunged all the fenders in when on a mooring overnight and burned a hole in one of them! Lucky I didn't have a fire. (though we we were moored about 20 feet from the beach so i think we would have made it!)

So if it goes in a locker I would think about a bulkhead to separate it from everything else. I haven't done any scientific testing on how hot the exhaust is how far from the unit. I think its only the first couple of inches that ate a problem?

I had the bigger sister to the 38cc (M44) and all of them had the heater mounted underneath the stern cabin island berth. Can't see any reason why the 38 would be any different.

That's where mine was. Next to the quadrant. Exhaust out through the starboard aft locker.

On our 38CC the heater (actually a Webasto) is mounted underneath the ply floor in the starboard lazarette. It seems to be quite happy there although it doesn't get a great deal of use. (Ours is the 1990s type 38CC, not the 2000s type which may be different.)
