Having thought about a lot of alternatives, I'm now looking at this for our first boat. We have spent some time chartering in UK waters with the family and friends and decided to try ownership. It seems a good boat for family of five. I've seen a few advertised on the market (variable condition, similar prices!) and hope to view one or two over coming weeks. I'd be interested in hearing any advice. Also anyone who might be thinking of selling and not yet on the market.

I have owned a 376 for the last 6 years and have just finished a round Britain cruise in her... Any questions or advice give me a PM and I will send contact details - prices seem to stay pretty stable.

Have you sailed a 376? would be happy to take you out on mine to try so so much more solid that the Bavaria. Mine is a 1990 boat which is just before Moody messed with the range and made the 38.

It's a good boat. Look at the Moody Owners site MOA to find out more - you can post queries there.

You could post a wanted ad there, but for that you have to be a member - but if you are set on a 376 thats a good idea anyway.

Thanks for offer mark. I've not sailed one before, i may well get in touch after i view one at the weekend. I sailed a jeanneau 37 a couple of weeks ago, and found it about as solid as the bavaria, so I think most current production boats are pretty much the same in that price bracket. Also I like the idea of the owners cabin, should be enough comfort to convince the wife! There are some reports of osmosis in earlier boats and i notice some 376's on the market have had 'preventative' treatment, is this something to be concerned about in a boat of this age?

Ok let me know how you get on.

As for Osmosis when we had ours surveyed there were no problems found. Not heard of any particular problems with "modern" Moodys.

The Aft cabin is huge and with en suite heads should be enough to convince most people.
