Talking about new boats i.e. the Elan 35 i managed a sea trial on a 265 in black a while ago. Now for an american boat it was fantastic. She handled the solent superbly. She flew along with a 300 yanmar in. Has any one else had any experiences with these boats. Im thinking of popping down to the dealer again and taking the plunge

I could not agree more. I have done delivery trips on the 215, the 245 and the 265 recently. I have been very impressed with all three boats. I think they offer outstanding value and all three models "ride" exceptionally well. The 265 with the Yanmar 315hp is a very nice package. Deleivered one to Port Solent about 3 weeks ago.

The importer is Southwater Marine based at Hamble Point.

Very! They have also performed well in comparative tests - MBM has done a few. Monterey are still a family concern and although producing a lot of boats they are not maas production as per the Brunswick Corporation. The 265 is a cracker and with the 315 Yanmar, its got plenty of get up and go. It would certainly be on my shopping list.

When I was collecting a boat (215 with 260hp Merc) the other week to deliver to Poole, I was told that they were working on a 29 footer with twin 240's on Bravo 3 legs.

Good luck. Oh, if you go to Southwater Marine, tell David I sent you!!! /forums/images/icons/wink.gif I only drive em, I don't sell em!!

Would you like my partner Craig to PM you, he is one of the engineers at Southwater Marine. I know that they are rushed off their feet producing boats at the moment both from the LIBS and for SIBS. Craig does all the sea trials and hand overs for David as well as fitting the new boats out im sure he would be happy to help you with any queries.
