warning to anyone trying to buy a boat on ebay called Monterey 1.7 Diesel Power Boat 180 Edge Bowrider ( item number 281186025819 )

the seller is a scammer and only puts 2 photos on and 1 line write up about the boat so that ebay members message him for more info, once you do this he will offer you the boat for £3200 or £3500 (yes I,ve done it twice) and then he will send you more photos and a fake ebay email with a Barclays bank account details to do a wire transfer,

I have reported this to ebay via there live chat box, email and even rang them but they done nowt about it, this is the 3rd time the same boat has been listed and he starts the bidding very low at about £900

he will give you his email which is the same as the ebay user name edited and they email will be edited

thought my luck was in when he said I could have it for £3200 and would deliver from kent to anywhere in the uk free lol.. oh well back to my searching for boat :)

Yeh I bid 20 grand on it but he just cancelled my bid ... just cant seem to find a way to stop him :( I even rang the owner off the ebay account and still no joy he knows he has been hacked and he never put the boat on there.

He told me he changed it as ebay emailed him not sure how he keeps getting back in... looks like the auction has been ended now wonder if ebay done that or him lol will keep searching see if the same boat comes back up

It's been pulled now. You should probably edit your original post as the guy who's been hacked probably doesn't need his email all over the web too!

Edit: just saw your last post - it will probably come up with the ID of another hacked user...

Done :) will keep eyes open for same boat ;)

Nah, they're bored with boats now and are diversifying... Same M.O. however, same victim and same starting bid!

I had a contact at local Hi-tech crime unit from when I used to do data recovery - if I can find his details, I'll send him an email. Trouble is, they're under resourced and these things absorb massive amounts of time so by the time they get to it the crooks will have moved on

I'm in the market also for a sub 20k boat, Boats and Outboards, Gumtree, Boatshop24 and Ebay, if it sounds too good to be true it defo is....run away!

Best question I find is............................

Where and when can I view?

They never answer! oh other than the one response I had this week, sorry I didnt reply Ive been at my mother in laws, my husband passed away, his boat and Im due to lose the house!!!!!

Have your wits about you..........

been fixing and playing around computers now for many years so I know better when I see a fake email but it worries me that there's people out there that don't know and may get ripped off, I will report it to 419 web site and let them deal with him as they will just hound him and hound him till he goes away, you must know your stuff then RB if you done data recovery? done a bit myself but only photo recovery mainly
