What will happen next ?
I always thought it was too close to the motorway and must be noisy also no bridge so not surprised really.

We didn't get this far last year - how long has it been closed?

Its been closed since the end of 2015 if I remember correctly. We took a Prom party group there by boat in June 2015. I think it was a planned closure in the sense that they were not taking bookings for 2016.

It was stated at the time, that the new owners were going to do a major rebuild....

A major, year long, refit and partial rebuild with replacement footbridge is planned by the new owner, a Malaysian hotel group. The owner has one other hotel in UK in Bath. The development is at planning and EA application stage.
