Was there a few days last week and the meal we had at the Crepe bar was the highlight in a way, despite the pilotage in through the rocks using the route marked "do not attempt-for local boats only" by accident.
The Crepe Bar is just behind the Capitainerie,on the same side of the road as the marina.
Monique`s been running the place for some 20 years and her son,who has returned from two years cooking on square-riggers,is the chef.
It`s best not to look at the menu but ask what she suggests. We were offered Lievre, which is hare. Seven bucks each plus wine, including top-ups.
It was the most delicious meat I have ever eaten in my long and gluttonous life, slowly cooked in a red wine sauce flavoured with its own liver.
Hares must lead a very different lifestyle to rabbits there is no comparison.
Also very friendly,a bit scruffy in the true style, and a little puppy running around barking each time a cork was popped!
Worth a diversion on it`s own I reckon,Jerry.
