So with everyone heading off to LIBS, what would you buy and why?

For me always wanted a Sunseeker Predator – why just love the styling.

I'd have a Broom 530 parked in the Solent 'coz its simply vast inside and is a go anywhere in any conditions type boat and a Ferretti 500 for the Med 'coz all Ferrettis are simply fab. Both are as high quality as anything on show and stylish without being flash

sorry but if money was no object at all I wouldn't own a boat - I would hire when, where and what I wanted from time to time.

on the other hand, but maybe still not in the true spirit of this thread - I would have a Rodman 1120 or (Botnia) Targa 35/37 ; keeping it in Poole as currently. I believe I would have a boat that I would use as much as anything bigger week in and week out, and yet be able to get into the places I want to visit without hassle or restriction.

I'd stick with my boat, buy new engines, colour chart plotter, maybe a radar and a new cooker.

<hr width=100% size=1>Sod the Healey - I think I'll buy an E-Type.

Reminds me of the broom gag on Only fools and horses where Trigger says he had this broom for 15 years and has only had four new heads and five new handles....... ;-)

That was a classic and was on UK gold a couple of week back. Take it then the boat would be stocked with Peckham Spring /forums/images/icons/wink.gif

I\d mhave mine proffesionally redone, with all the things I`ve always wanted onboard, but you can keep all your new boats, umless a custom built Cheoy Lee twin screw motorsailoer, 72` or even the 63`.

I would have my boat (a princess 41) stripped down to the last nut and bolt and rebuilt like new! (by Princess of course) and have two rings glassed into the bow and stern. I could then use it as the tender to my new 54 metre De vries superyacht.

I think I'd have a Botnia Targa 30 with 2 D6's coz it will be fun doing 45kts on the Solent in a potting shed and a Broom50 OS for longer trips with a lovely big aft cabin and a shower I can fit in whilst still being a managable length coz I don't want a crew invading my privacy!

What I can't get my head around, is what boats go anywhere in any condtions. Cos that's the one I want?

Large exploration vessel with ice breaking capability.

Riva Aquarama for rallies.

Large yacht for Americas Cup and Cowes.

Colombo 50 footer out of "The Spy Who Loved Me" as a day boat.

I like the "Kevlar reinforcements are laminated into the wheelhouse and topsides to provide protection from weapons fire" That could be really handy! /forums/images/icons/laugh.gif
