Just a long shot but my son works for F1 and they are desperate to get a camera on a yacht to film the race apparently so if anyone knows anyone please let me know either on here or private message me - I know it’s unlikely but thanks for any help anyway

I think they will be thinking of 30M plus motor yachts AKA gin palaces not AWBs or MABs:eek: All the alongside berths will have been booked last year and are an arm and a leg and more. There best bet will be to approach one of the boats and ask but it is highly unlikely they will get any joy unless they can offer something like a pit visit and VIP pass cards in exchange.

I highly doubt Liberty Media would have a problem finding a boat to put a camera on in Monaco.;)

Yup. Every single broadcasting camera at the race bar none is owned by F1 (now controlled by liberty media). They are all flown in by freight 747s the week before. The business has a major revenue stream selling the TV rights. I know the business rather well :D.
No worries- I guess timv didn't quite mean that. Anyway I'm sorry not to be able to help. I was there in my boat 2016 in a berth organised by F1 and got some nice footage including drone-age. Must post it on here :D. But I'm not there this year, at least not with a boat.

I totally agree but he's there working forLiberty and apparently that's the case however unlikely

This is quite a scoop that Liberty Media cannot find a camera placement two days before FP1. How many team owners boats are there? JFM is in that clique, maybe he can help.

Crossed posts. :encouragement:

Eek, that is very odd. When the port starts filling with F1 boats during this week I expect many of the boats will oblige if messrs Carey or Brawn just ask. When I was in charge of things there was a camera up Mirabella V's mast :D

There's something about that last sentence that makes you want to say 'oo-er"...! :D:D

If only there was a man on here who worked for the largest Superyacht House in Monaco....

Joking aside we have a number of boats on Charter attending (as well as owners) and although highly unlikely, I could ask the questions, that said F1 are aware of our organisation and it may be the question has already been asked with our management team.
