It's me again, can anyone tell me or send me a sketch of the rudder stock gland on a moody33 mk1. Mines leaking around the area where it meets the hull. I have repacked the gland, but the leak is at the base of the fitting. I'm considering a proffesional repair because of the inplications. Any advice will be welcome. /forums/images/graemlins/smirk.gif

Have you looked at the Moody Owners Website - search and find lots of info on leaky rudders. It's the O rings that are the problem. Fixing them is quite a job I understand.

OOh that wasn't very clear. The manual is on the website. PM me if a problem and I could send you a pdf.

Hi, definitely visit the MOA website, and join if you are not already a member, the yearly subscription is worth it's weight in gold just for all the technical information available. I have a Moody 33 mk2 and don't have any leaks at the rudder stock. Mine looks like the photos as posted by MoodySabre; I'm going to the boat this week so will check if mine is the same. I suspect that if it's like the photos with several glassed in bolts holding it down, it could be removed and a suitable gasket and mastic used to make it watertight.
