No, you don't understand. I'm pathologically addicted to varnish. Its a fetish of mine. Some people dress up in tight rubber... and go diving. I don't judge them. I'm not critical. I just love varnishing. Its therapeutic, and gives me time to listen to the voices in my head.. They tell me things.. like.. "lovely turpentine".

My wife thinks I'm crazy, but the Turpentine tells me not to listen to her, that she's jealous, and doesn't understand the joy of splicing, or sanding, or just varnishing. She doesn't love the smell of paraffin, or 'Beer-with-diesel', or the whiff of 'stockholm tar and underwear'.

I think she's crazy...

I can empathise with all of that, therefore, I will increase my offer to..........shall we say, £19-11-6d........that is in proper money of course none of this foreign muck we are currently conned with.

Now seeing as when I was a lad, I could buy a jam doughnut for 2d, which is about 1p in foreign muck, and today a jam doughnut will cost you at least 40p in foreign muck, which equates to about 6s-6d or 6/6d if you like........are you following me so far....anyway, it's a very good offer, trust me, I like doughnuts.

Oooooo!! and I thought I was the only one!! Can we meet sometime and share "turps sniffing". Just love that smell!!

Got to be pure Turpentine, though. Synthetic just isn't the same and as for white spirit, Yuk! There's a special shop down my way which sells Pure Natural Turpentine by the litre -just take along a canister. These days its the only chemically induced high we are allowed.

Sorry Chrusty1, the Turpentine distracted me. I might accept Florins or Groats, but only if they drawn on the Central bank of Nyassaland.

Good grief! Man! Of course natural (real) turps, is there any other type?
Easy and cheap to obtain in Spain and Holland, more difficult in UK.
