<font color=blue>One in 1966 in the middle of the Indian Ocean. M.O.Bs' are more likely to happen to race sailing boats where the crew have failed to attach their safety lines.

Re: MOB\'s How many have you had?

Once in more years than I care to remember, but I' still trying to get the wife to fall off!

I'm really quiet worried about you Grumps, your looking for all the bad things. Don't get me wrong. Your to be commended in your research into your new found hobby, but I am really starting to worry. Does your other half see all the negative aspect questions you ask. Its not a dangerous extreme sport!!

The one person that you don't want to go over is YOU. Have you got a kill cord on your new floating doom machine. Last thing you want is for you to get thrown out at 30 knots and the thing buzzing off with no one at the helm.

Get a blow up doll and practice your MOB recovery once every so often, that'll keep you on your toes.

None.

Although, Mr B regularly falls out of the dinghy when he's playing silly buggers and corners too quickly while sitting on the tube (not the underground ..... before some smart arse says something Haydn !)

We have a lot of fun nicking raggies fenders. Dozy buggers are that slow turning round, you can get there first from half a mile away. Never fallen in, but did have some close shaves with the P33. The ladder upstairs was so exposed that when going down cos of rough seas. Next wave hit you sideways and feet slid off ladder. Whole body hanging over the side and just gripping on for dear life!!

Re: MOB\'s How many have you had?

OK, My research shows that I am far safer with you lot in a motorboat than the raggies, thank goodness I chose this route into sailing /forums/images/icons/wink.gif Although raggies seem to have more, it is marginal, BUT they expect to die when they do go overboard. There has been a little discussion on the Scuttlebut forum which shows that they would call out a MAYDAY on EVERY occassion anyone went over board. I said I would assess it, as it may for example be a nice day and no problem going around, bit like picking up a bobble hat. I was told I would never be allowed on their boat if I did this. They all seem to think they will die if they fell in at any time, I asked the question as to why not wear a drysuit e.g. the appropriate clothing for the time, but they are sweaty and why after buying loads of expensive waterproof clothing spend more on one of those? I am confused. When I was told people keep getting hit with a boom, I suggested a helmet, like the Gecko made especially for marine use, the lifeguard use the, but no, they seem to want to get a tan, I would rather be alive than brown dead, and looking gorgeous on the morticians slab /forums/images/icons/wink.gif

So do I need a helmet? I don't have a boom so I think not, but I am open to your experiences to guide me. This helmet at about £100 would be less than some sunglasses, madness if you ask me, As a diver if I fall in the water it is for fun AND I survive, if they fall in they are DEAD meat, SO my brain engages gear and thinks, Ummm, what do I have to do to stay alive like a diver, then get the appropriate kit. They call it fun to go out for a weekend unprepared knowing if they fall over board they are DEAD, NO THANKS I'm getting a Broom next, safe as houses, and if you do fall off you can use the Net's as a scramble net /forums/images/icons/laugh.gif there is enogh of them.

Sorry can't remember what I was on about.

Re: MOB\'s How many have you had?

Just out of interest, if you find something floating in the sea (apart from a raggie) can you keep it, or is there a sea lost property offfice, just need to know in case I lose some gear overboard, where to go to claim it back. I know Britis rail have a central office full of umbrellas, maybe there is a Sea office somewhere full of fenders, ropes, hats & some wives /forums/images/icons/laugh.gif

Cheers,

Re: MOB\'s How many have you had?

I've actually sussed it, he's not bored. What we actually have here is a patient, sorry client, you can't call them patients anymore, in phyciatric hospital with internet access. I found this out the other day while doing a survey for one of my customers. They, the clients, were all sitting round a table with 4 or 5 burley nurses looking at computer screens.

So, I deduce from the questions that grumpy has been asking and his replies to the replies he has been getting, is actually a PARANOID SHCITZOPHRENIC. Add to that the alta ego's of Happy and Grumpy and the use of too many smilies in his posts. You've got the classic traits shown by such a person. Along with the pessimistic outlook on life that Grumpy/Happy has, I would be very wary as to the information that you give him/it/her/them (depending on what ego has control).

All I can say is that Grumpy/Happy should keep taking the Stematol.....it works!

Blimey Barry, I'm scared now. Should I get the straight jacket out of my bondage cupboard - just to be on the safe side ?

<font color=blue>The legal formula is. If anything is found within the 3 mile limit the law of lost and found applies. Outside the 3 mile then you are the poud owner. Yes! Nick! that includes you new Dinghy.

Politically correct beyond sense

I agree from the outside this is a psychiatric situation. The cheese has evidently slipped off his cracker. Sadly in this day and age, he is a "service user"! as even client suggests a financial contrual relationship!

None in over 40 years. Most as a raggie, but also includes 10 years (20,000 miles) with a Nelson.
