There's a boat jumble at Carlton Towers (close to the M62 between Goole and Selby) on Sunday 2nd November.

If any other Northerners were thinking about a visit, how about meeting up for a Sunday Lunch in a suitable venue close by?

(promise I'll only say 'diesel' and 'mercruiser' once per yorkshire pud)

Martin, love to come but I've just swapped the flat cap and muffler for blue blazer and chinos. Moved Pollyanna down to the Thames for the next three months whilst working on a contract down there.

Keep a lookout for an old Evinrude 9.9 HP outboard and a red suitcase type 1kw Honda Generator. Local Scallies broke into my garage and had them away two weeks ago. They even stole the chains that I had secured them with.

So its not that NORTHERN Eh Martyn,

The M62 is a long way north for (as hlb puts it) 'southern gits' , but its also a hell off a long way south for us ' northern Scots gits'.
So if we(Scots) are northerners, and they(Solent) are Southerners, What does that make you lot in the middle?
The Middle Men!!/forums/images/icons/laugh.gif

Anyway it would be great to meet up again, but i wouldn't want to spoil you day by saying 'PETROL ' and 'MERCRUISER' twice as often as you!!/forums/images/icons/laugh.gif/forums/images/icons/laugh.gif.

Maybe the next time Sunday lunch can be a bit more 'Northern' than the middle of the country.../forums/images/icons/wink.gif

But Goole's no where near the middle of the Country. They only grow carrots and hay round there. It's miles from anywhere. Now Manchesters central and at least we've heard of it!!

Don't come round here mentioning Manchester when east of the Pennines.

You'll get strung up by the Goolies!

Ah but Al, I see you as a 'Southerner'.

Your not going to tell me that you, as a Scot, treat the UK as one country, thus making you a 'Northerner'.

If you were a Northerner, you'd be a 'Highlander' surely?

BTW how's your Black East Lowland Bitch these days.
