With my wife away, and me left holding the baby, we went for a quiet day out on the beach in Broadstairs today, rather than slogging over to Wales where the boat is.
The weather was perfect for a swim (even if the sea was a little nippy for the little nipper), but decided against it because a couple of clods on motorboats were zooming around, well inside the buoyed off swimming area.
Why?
What's in it for them?
If it was to show off their boats, they should have bought boats that looked nice.
If it was to oggle at the ladies on the beach, they should have slowed down a bit.
If it was to try and run down swimming innocents, they were doing everything right.
I've nothing against motorboats, but there are a few idiot joy riders (after a few beers, perhaps) who let the side down. What can be done?
