MOBO Among the moorings

So how fast, and what would you say if you were on the mooring?

Dave

I'd be yelling for the wife & G-kids to hang on for dear life if I was on one of those moorings. Utterly crass behaviour.

Also had it from Fishing boats in Caernarfon harbour, going fast enough to squat & throwing all the boats against the wall & each other - what's the point? Why are people so selfish?

Come on guys, if anyone sinks a mooring in a channel they cant winge about a bit of wash every now and then
That boat most likley doing the 8 knot limit.
+/- 3 knot tide.

If its ebbing 3 knots you have to do 11 to make the speed limit !

I cant understand why there is so much nonsense about a bit of wash, has anyone ever seen a boat sunk from a couple of petty 1 foot ripples

If so you need to ask yourself if the boat was fit for purpose and probably best sunk in a safe area before some clot took it out to sea !

Not meant as a serious post ;)

I have seen lots of boats on google which are going fast in the wrong place and think the boat might be super imposed ?

Wake looks like its from a multi hull jet drive boat

It looks like a lot of white water right near the Mobo, but nothing affecting the moored yachts where you'd expect the bow wave to have got to.
Maybe a lot of noise about nothing?

Have a look at lyminington

Serious rebound wash off a moored yacht from a stinker.

im sure google has super imposed them.

All mobos @20 knots, no raggies anywhere !

Google is quite amusing when it stitches pictures together.
If you peer at the top of Portsmouth Harbour, you can see the bow of my old boat perfectly sharp, the middle has been faded into the next image section and the stern is not visible. It looks like the thing has sunk by the stern.

Thanks Daka!

It’s such a relief to have someone else apart from myself accused of committing ‘anything at all’ even-though you weren’t there. :D

Last time it was a Doctor (sorry 'Specialist Registrar') accusing me of destroying the (her) Network.
To which I just laughed …. explaining that I was only working on a local system & therefore …… ;)

I do get this on an infrequent basis ….. and I have to admit … I do find it amusing! :)

I think I now have a new ‘Ace Up The Sleeve’ …. (good reply) …… ‘it’s Daka’s fault! :D :D

Tea-Time! :)

All good fun, not complaining in anyway at all but Im a bit mystified where my reputation comes from , its years since I made a little post faux pars which started several 'have a go at daka threads', I have matured *somewhat since ......honest (I restrict myself to one friendly troll a year now, 1st April) :D

*BTW
Its my Birthday today and I'm now in my 40's

Another oddity. The photo in the OP, says it is from 1/1/2005 imagery. There are rather a lot of boats in the water for 1 st Jan, if you look at the larger view of Chichester harbour there are far more boats on the water, with boats anchored at East Head, than you would expect for 1st Jan.

Just checked Northney marina, my old green car is parked in front of the reception (end one ) half outside the space so none hits it with their car doors.

My boat is missing from the berth.

There is a Princess 360 on the plane heading out of Emsworth Channel

I mentioned to a friend having nearly been thrown overboard by one idiot speeding, and he said these bigger boats struggle to get down to 8 knots with the big engines on near tickover

Ban the bloody things then if that's true... Let the inconsiderate A holes ponce about and burn fuel in there Maybach instead. :D

Rant over!
