No doubt people are aware but thought I would mention it as it is a game changer for us.

Next year Brussels has said all phone operators have to scrap roaming charges in the EU, effectively this means you should (emphasis on the word should) be able to use you mobile phone plan all over Europe as if you were at home. ie free minutes, free data etc...

Given that our cousins in the US have been able to do this for about 18 months it is about blooming time.

This to me is one of the few great things to come out of Brussels in years.

Some operators are already coming up with packages, EE for example give roaming for texts and calls FOC in Europe but not data and Three are offering several countries like US, Oz, Italy with no extra charge - they have plans for more countries next year to include Spain and France hopefully.

We are hoping that one of the operators will blink first and offer a standard contract with NO roaming for anything including data. If I had to put a bet on it I would say it will be T-mobile or Three.

What also gets my goat is when a call goes to message is , ( and you are paying for it ) thank you for calling 1 2 3 4 5 6 7 8 9 please leave a message after the tone. WHO he hell knows what number you have called anyway, you pressed call Fred Bloggs mobile:disgust:
