IIRC one of "you lot" does mobile device trackers for boats (etc) that use the mobile network (rather than AIS!) ..

I need some help please!

(yes I should search but time is limited today)

Hi, sorry for the delay in replying.

This is what I have fitted to mine, the advert gives all relevant details of functionality but just be careful if you go for a PAYG SIM as the alarm will repeatedly send txt messages which quickly uses up any credit on the card.. better to go for a very cheap contract as you can get them for a fiva a month these days.

I have this linked in to a standard car alarms with motion detector in the main cabin too... if someone opens the door, the car alarms sounds (optionally) but I also get a txt message from the tracker to alert me, I can then dial in to the tracker and listen to what's occurring..

GSM GPS Tracker

I've not taken the time to setup the GPRS positioning to the PC but will do so when I truely get bored one day:)

cheers Gary

Thanks Gary :)

I think I'm going to need a waterproof one - or one that is a bit more weather resistant - although it could probably be mounted out of the elements it would still be in an open boat ...
Other than that - it looks pretty good - alarm on and off and operational guard zones would be ideal for what we're after (I think!)

Might just have to do that but then mount in an waterresistant case...
