Mmsi issues

Ok, my mmsi is registered with ofcom. The boat has always been in Ireland. (i am British so was able to register ship's mmsi legit with ofcom atthe time i did it many years ago, well before brexit was a thing)

Now I'm selling the boat. The Irish lad who's buying will need an Irish mmsi I beleive. Is that right? I pressume he won't be able to keep the UK mmsi.

He will be able to register in Ireland and pay his fee I guess. He will also need to reprogramme the sh1500e vhf set's mmsi. Who can do this in Ireland?
