Tacking up the river today when my GPS gave out a continuous alarm (?) tone and switched itself off, never to restart. Attempts to switch back on produce a brief flash of lines across the LCD screen, then nothing...

Has anyone experienced this & was it terminal, or is there a fix? Have checked obvious things like terminals for damp, corrosion, etc but seem to be OK.

Any guidance welcome!

tickover is almost certainly not creating any output from the alternator,

had you switched batteries in order to start the engine and inadvertantly switched off domestic power?

has the fuse to the GPS blown and internal power failed?

Get yere ammeter out

If you find that you still have the problem then try Mantsbrite Electronics who I believe are the MLR poeple in the UK. I've always found them very helpful
