Mistley again

I had a nice sail up (and down) the Stour yesterday and noticed a couple of boats alongside the quay at Mistley. I turned a bit to early to see who they were, was this progress or protest?

I was there about two weeks ago and it was all fenced off

I hope it's progress, and if not then protest. An outrageous situation that I find hard to believe the County Council, and possibly the Harbour Authority, do not have the power to do something about.

No news on the Parish Council's website, and the 'Free the Quay' website hasn't been updated since last year.

Neither really, The boats you saw alongside the quay belonged to members of local sailing clubs that had been invited to stour sc for a bbq. Guess they weren't brave enough to go all the way up!!!

When we were there a couple of weeks back there was a barge moored up there. Impressive how they'd got their mooring lines on under the fence - the stern one was looped over with a broom apparently, so quite how they got away again I've not a clue. Had a bit of a chat with them, at the time, one fence panel seemed, er, broken!
