Hi all in need of the plastic raw water jacket drain-bung as fitted to the Stbd side of the engine.
i have dropped the one in my sons boat into the bilge under the engine so its not actually lost, but !!! cant get at it. /forums/images/graemlins/mad.gif /forums/images/graemlins/mad.gif /forums/images/graemlins/mad.gif
plan to use a wet vac this w/e in desperandum
any help greatly appreciated /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

Now we know the engine but sorry I can't help except for suggesting you call your local Yanmar "Mr fixit" but I am sure someone else on here will know the engine and be able to advise.

Which bit is it, if it is just the bolt, can you not remove the whole drain assy and go a searching around scrap yards, is it like a banjo bolt or does it just seal by screwing over and past the drain hole?

As a stop gap, you could dispense with the drain hose and just pop a short bolt with instant gasket into the hole. This would give you time to find a cheap component and allow you to go sailing /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

I do not have one spare, sorry, but I would do everything not to pay their nuts prices (pun intended). Or have you lost the whole assy to the bildge troll?

the B/Troll has eaten the placki nut from the "Drain Plug".
i have thought about removing the whole assembly & a simple short bolt suitably sealed with Gunk of some sort as a stop-gap ( pun intended).

i used the wet-vac with success.
took out the brass body of the valve as the bung didnt seal very well & found it to be 1/4 BSP thread.
so now fitted a gas coch as fitted to my old Perky 4108, it is now much easier to drain-off the water jacket bu turning the cock 90 deg.
a genuine yanmar replacement 28 squids
the gas fitting a fiver tops & better
