Mirror Offshore 19

We have just been given a mirror offshore 19 which needs some work, I can only find limited info on the web, I could do with some detailed plans or good photos of the interior and of the engine. Any info will be greatly recieved.

The Mirror offshore was reviewed in PBO 238, October 1986

There were two versions. The mk1 had 122 sqft of sail, just two berths forward and was offered with a Volvo md1 . The Mk 2 had 152 sqft or up to a max of 197 sqft on a taller rig, a four berth layout and was fitted with inboard or outboard.

Both used the same hull but the mk2 had a single widow each side

If yours still has a running MD1, I have a set of emergency spares you can have for the postage. You'll recognise it as it's a huge single cylinder deisel with a flywheel that wouldn't disgrace a tractor.

Spares for md1 are hard to get, I'd snap them up.

It definately looks like a mk 1 as it has the two windows, but i cannot tell which engine it has does anyone have any pics of a volvo md1 to compare?

It's more or less a single cylinder version of this.

If it is a Volvo then most likely green as in the pic in but it will have a plate like the one illustrated in the link below.

As to whether it'll look like a single cylinder version of the one pictured by Tommyrot I am not so sure. I looked at some of the MD1 brochures on the above website and found a variety of engines that did not!

BTW you only need to put the model number in to search The VP database

Hi Guys,
What do you need to know about the Mirror Offshore, have been trying to complete the restoration of mine for a while now and have found quite abit of info if you wish plus photo's of my Volvo Penta Md1 re-build including re-bore and sleeving where to get head gaskets and pistons etc dynastarts correct single grade s.a.e.20w engine oil, how to winterise, manuals, wiring diagrams, jabsco impellers, boat No 157. I still haven't finished but hey...not going to give up.
