Mirage 26

Am I mad to consider this....

I have been offered a Mirage 26 at low cost, a bit scruffy but seems sound, recent sails, engine okay, etc

Has anyone had one of these?

Deck seems sound, head lining poor in a couple of areas, tops of keel bolts rusted and one seems tricky to access.

I want something to potter around on and teach the young family to sail, it certainly does not have to be quick!

Any input from owners welcome

I owned a Mirage 28 for five years. Cracking boat start the family.

Thanks Sandy, I think the 26 is just shorter in the cockpit, but would stand corrected.

It seems the 28 had a much bigger production window in terms of years and volumes

If I'm not mistaken, it's Snapdragon & Mirage

We had a Snapdragon for years. Far from the quickest, but tough as old boots. My understanding is that the Mirages are better sailers.

I had a Mirage 31 with twin AQAD diesels, would plane nicely at low 20 knots. But I think we're talking different typ of boat?

I think we are! I am talking about a 26ft grp yacht
