A single engined light aircraft ditched off the SE of Jersey yesterday afternoon. A great response from three RNLI lifeboats, the St Helier Pilot boat and two SAR aircraft (and a passing airliner that was first on the scene) meant that the occupants returned to shore looking as though they hadn't even got their feet wet despite having spent an hour in a life raft in 2.5m swell and a F7 blowing. One of the two is ex RAF so would have been well trained in sea survival and and i believe they also had a PLB.
Well done to all.
