Moored at Gunwharf Quays, Portsmouth. I don't know for how long but she arrived this morning. Fenders, each the size of a standard inflatable tender, a lift cage to ascend the mast. The lowest spreaders at the same height of most mast tops...etc, etc. Wow

Was discussing her with a mate a couple of days ago, he commented that the mast was taller than Truro Cathedral which i believe to be around 250-260 feet.
Was he correct in what he said ? If so must be one hell of a sight !..

I believe its so tall it wont go under Golden gate bridge. Watched it be manouvered by 3 tugs to its mooring yesterday, suprised they had to use 3 tugs, I thought it had bow thrusters etc?

Apparently last night was for the family of the VT workers to go look around, my friend tried to get in but 'your names not down, your not coming in' (understandably!).

I see it now has the red aircraft hazard light at the top of the mast, I presume that is why they can now moor it overnight outside the naval dockyard (i.e. a no fly zone)?

Hoping to got across the channel this weekend, would love to have it overtake me on its way down to the med tommorow...

damn. I am fairly sure that mirabella was actualy planning on cruising the walton backwaters on the east coast with a charter load of jetsetting billionaires. Now they will have to rough it in the med :-(

Rumour has it that its passage to the Med (for the Monaco GP) was delayed because the owner's wife did not like the flowers or the curtains!!

That's what it said in our paper.

It brings a whole new level of meaning to SWMBO. I reckon the rest of us are only entitled to use the lowercase version!
