Old clocks have 2mm square shafts for the winder - get a key like this one.

If you look in the window at Cookes in Hull there are sextants and clocks and chronometers.
I suppose it makes sense they would use a pre-existing key that most ships and boats would already have available.

You guys should turn your attentions to the Middle East. I believe the "Peace Envoy" hasn't solved the issues there yet.
