As some of you know, I like taking photos of fast yachts, my friend Tobias is hopeing to race his 21ft mini boat across the Atlantic this September, he asked me to take some photos of his boat a while back and I have just loaded the pictures of his Mini 6.50 sailing off Lymington here

Hope you like!

Cheers

Stephen

Fab,
your shutter finger must be blistered. Limbos have come on a long way since 78 then? /forums/images/graemlins/smirk.gif

Good pics.
Nice racer too.
I was trying to see how the bowsprit is stayed.....
I can see a bobstay but the bowsprit appears to stop at the bow? If so I guess there are fore and aft stays to port and starboard. Any one ?

Regards Briani

It has two jockey poles about midships which help hold it on position with guys that feed back to the cockpit so you can cant the pole left or right. Very neat! He has also got a forward canard which which I havent seen on minis before.

No, they do all sorts of other racing. Up and until recently there only used to be organised racing from the French organisers with the Mini Fastnet and various other races. Some of the UK mini sailors have got their act toghther in the last few months are trying to put a series toghether on this side of the channel, they recently had 4 boats racing in the Southhampton yacht club round the island double hander and I think they are going to enter various other races. Its a great class of boat and its shame not more is organised here for them

Sadly it was ever thus. They ran the first couple of Mini-Transats from Plymouth till the sponsor pulled the plug. Then the class crossed the Channel and now it is so associated with Franc that nobody can even recall the British roots of the event.
