Saw Ming Ming in Whitehills on Sunday when we were there, he came back about a week ago. we were told he was at sea for fifty nine days, fifteen miles was the nearest he was to land .

I don't know where he puts 59 days worth of food and water on a Corribee. We struggle with a weekend's worth! Good for him, showing it's the mindset that matters.

I believe its an Achilles 24 these days, a little larger than the original, so IIRC it goes a little further.

I wonder if he will have a new book out shortly too? Read all his books - I really like his minimalist and easy going approach. Think I'd want something steel, big diesel engine with a big eberspacher heater if I were to head that far north though!

I really enjoyed the first books (simple sailor then the two about Ming Ming I). I found the latest book (I think with Ming Ming II, the Achilles) difficult, it was less about sailing than abstract pot philosophy and it had some totally erroneous abstracts from science that wavered into pseudoscience or at the most generous amateurish reflections on things nowt to do with sailing. I put it down half way through feeling really disappointed and will probably not buy the next.
