Today loaded up Google Earth (see thread below), I find it quite incredible in terms of detail. Not surprisingly NY seems the highest resolution around (and 'Buildings' works there). To be able to see a zodiac from space is nothing short of fantastic. [40º42'48.22"N, 74º01'01.25"W], and since 0.01"N is 1ft, you can even measure the length of the zodiac.

I have had a quick navigation down the Chenal du Four and the Raz du Sein, and it looks worse on GE than the real thing !! GE can even show depths....

Where next?? /forums/images/graemlins/crazy.gif

Anyone else any particularly interesting places to visit (don't go to the Eiffel Tower and put a tilt on it... /forums/images/graemlins/wink.gif

For ref, GE is here

There seems to be a lack of detail over most of the UK, or is it me not being able to use it properly?

[/ QUOTE ]Yes... London covered well, but the provinces are treated pretty poorly. Even London is nowhere as good as NY. I suppose that is what you would expect? He who pays the piper... /forums/images/graemlins/wink.gif

nb. you can see people on the deck of the aircraft-carrier in NY, at one of the quays ! Only place I have actually found people resolved.

Have a look at the plane in the Thames valley flying into London, along with it's shadow on the ground. Just follow the M4 out of Heathrow, and many people have captioned it.

MSN Earth is another to look at ,trying to be a rival to Google Earth.
Interestingly their detail has ''omitted'' arch rival Apple Computers California HQ...

Is it a shadow? Or a secondary image of some sort, perhaps part of a stereo pair?

Have a look at the EasyJet flight approaching Turnhouse (Edinburgh) (55* 56' 00.47"N 003* 25' 10.91"W) and you'll see what I mean.

Fantastic stuff ... if I had a use for it!
