Hi, does anyone know how much water there is at the end of the Jolly Sailor pontoon about 4 hours after spring HW? Also what's the bottom like? Thanks guys.
Thanks tico, I did suspect that it was a "top of the tide" only place to come alongside. Was trying to avoid a rubber dinghy ride after having visited the pub!
Depends on how long you want to stay at the pub? & how much you draw.
Springs HT are around 7 o'clock so no problem there unless you want to spend lunchtime there.
Can recommend the Doom bar. Say hi to the staff there, they all know me by sight.
Neaps range is down to ~2m
Hi tico, I was thinking about this Saturday, HW is 18:13. Some friends are dinning there 19:30 to maybe 22:30 so would probably have to leave at about 21:15. Have a lifting keel but still draw 3ft with it up. If we do make it will remember you to the staff. Should I duck when I mention your name???
Should be ok then on the hammerhead. You can keep an eye on depth from a window table anyway.
The guide used to be that if the water is lapping around the base of the Trinity house pier next to the Jolly, there is 3' of water on the hammerhead.
No need to duck... we'll be on the window table in the bar on Sat.
I know Dulcibella by sight.
