Had the boat lifted in last Thursday, straight onto the swinging mooring then out for a (successful) shakedown last Friday in the last of the decent weather here. Even in a slight breeze the boat is constantly moving either on a mooring or at anchor so I dinghied out yesterday morning to check the strops and shackles before the forecast gales and bad weather. Accidentally left the AIS transmitting but couldn’t be arsed going back out to switch it off, anyway an easy way to check the boat was where it should be this morning. Zoomed in to the boats track overnight and found the ‘spirograph’ image below. By God this boat does some miles when left to its own devices….travelling at over 1kn at times.

I would find it really stressful watching that ,,, I'd be paranoid I would see something like this, and would want to rush out there to rescue things:

If that happened I’d get an alert from Marine Traffic that Capella had left the harbour. I’d then immediately ring my insurance company, no way I’d be going out there in a dinghy 🫣
