Hi as some of you may know i bought a mikuni heater. I am in the process of "Bench testing" it prior to installing it.

Bad news is that it is failing the very first test. The light on the "on-off" switch does not even light up.

I am woindering if the unit itself and/or the control box must be mounted and grounded in order for this to work.

Anyone know?

I sent mikuni an email but I assume they are closed for the day

Thanks in advance

Shawn

From what you were saying earlier you were familiar with mikuniheating.com tech support?

For ignition failure and no fault code (on/off light) flashing it suggests a thermostat test.

Thanks I figured it out,

The problem was it wasn't even flashing.

Turns out the 30A fuse looked good but was a dud. I replaced the fuse and VOILA. I had heard about bad fuses "looking good" but this is my first time actually seeing it.

I am pumped now. Bench testing worked, now just need an afternoon to install it.

PS for those interested. Neither the control box or the heater unti have to be grounded to run.
