hi,im in the process of fitting a mikuni MY30 heater which was bought in a kit ie,everything supplied, problem is there does not seem to be a fuel filter supplied and there is no reference to one in the installation manual.I would of thought it would require one is this the case or are they quite happy without one many thanks in advance.

I fit Webasto heaters, and use the in line filter available from Halfords at about £2.89. They are not essential but if dirt gets in the fuel the filter is cheaper to replace.

You really do need the filter - it sits in line before to the pump,
not sure where you are, but Penguin Marine, Southampton do anything to do with Mikuni. If you don't use the filter you will get a quicker build up in the "pot" and useful life of the glow plugs will diminish drastically.
